Budget
The $10 million budget for 2004 was overwhelmingly approved by Convention with minimal discussion. The budget was presented by the Rev. Marsha Bacon Glover, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, who noted, “We have a difficult economy.” However, “the budget will stand firm,” Glover said. “Most [programs] were funded at the same level as 2003.”

Glover pointed out a few areas where there were increases:

• $40,000 for a Christian Education Worker “to work with congregations to establish or   rejuvenate programs for children in our churches.” She added, “This is the one new addition to   the budget.”

• $30,000 for Hispanic/Latino ministry “for this exciting ministry.”

• $30,000 to General Theological Seminary for the recruitment of Hispanic clergy.
She also noted that funds were added to the Property Support area for consultants based on   the need of our churches; and cost sharing with the Cathedral will increase in 2004 as costs   have increased.
